a) Each vial contains -
Cetriaxone 125mg / 250mg / 500mg / 1000mg |
| Mode of action : |
| Bactericidal in action. Inhibits cell wall synthesis. |

| Gram-Positive Organisms : |
| Staphylococcus aureus, penicillinase &non-penicillinase-prodcing strains Staphylococcus epidemidis. Streptococcus pneumoinae, Streptocuccus pyogenes, Streptocuccus agalactiae. |

| Gram-Negative Organisms : |
Escherichia coli, Providencia species, Klebsiella species, Serratia species, Enterobacter species, Salmonella and Shigella and Haemophilus influenzae some other Pseudomonas species, Proteus mirabills, Neisseria gonorrhoeae Proteus vulgaris, Neisseria meningitidis, Morganella morganii, Providencia rettgeri.

Adults - Reco mmended dose 1-2 gm OD / BD
In severe injection and in doses in witch the pathogens are only moderalely Sensitive,
the daily dose may be in ereased, but should not exceed 4 gm.
Neonates / Children - 50-75mg / 1kg IM.IV once as a day. |

| Warning / Preacaution : |
Cefti is contraindicated in patients with known allergy to cephalosporin group of antibiotics.
Cautiously used in penicillin sensitive patients and those who deelop diarrhoea inassociation with antibiotic use. Pregnancy / nursing mothers : Administer only if clearly required. |

| Hepatic : Elevations of SGOT or SGPT, Headache or Dizziness & Local reactions like Pain; induration; hypersensitivity rate (1.7%) |

| Salient Features : |
Lower MIC's against most pathogens. Achieves higher serum and tissue concentration that are sustained above MIC for more than 24 hrs. Excellent cure rate in wide range of infections. Dual mode of excretion, hence no dosage adjustment required in mild renal/hepatic dysfunction.
